‘Lucknow’ is a journey into the heart of a
city that owes its rich culture to the Nawabs who were patrons of the arts. It
is also known as the capital of Uttar Pradesh was historically known as the
Awadh region. Today, it is the administrative headquarters of Lucknow District
and Lucknow Division. Fondly known as the ‘City of Nawabs’ or the ‘City of
Tehzeeb’, it has always been a city filled with varied cultures. It's beautiful
sprawling gardens, polite mannerisms, fine-cuisine, music, and poetry
(Shayari), had found a patronage in the Shia Nawabs of the city who loved
Persian.
Today, it is known as one of the most
important cities of the country which is now emerging in various sectors like retailing, manufacturing, commercial
and real estate. Today, Lucknow is a
vibrant city that is witnessing an economic boom and is among the top ten
fastest growing non-major-metropolitan cities of India. It is a centre of Hindi
and Urdu literature and is the second largest city in Uttar Pradesh, after Kanpur.
From the Investment point of view Lucknow
is the best option because a new project is coming proposed by "Nitin Gadkari". The Lucknow-Kanpur
road takes 120 minutes to travel from Lucknow to Kanpur by road covering a
distance of about 80 kilometers. At a recently organized high level meeting,
officials of housing and urban development department have been instructed to
work on plans to develop Kanpur as a twin city of "Lucknow" and
improve connectivity between the two. The Lucknow-Kanpur road journey would be
reduced to around 30 minutes when the proposed Rs 10,000 crore eight-lane
access controlled expressway will get ready, possibly by 2018. The minister,
who was on a two-day visit to the state capital, took nearly 45 minutes to race
through various road projects that he has cleared for Uttar Pradesh. He also
met chief minister "Akhilesh Yadav" and spoke of cooperation from the
state government for the various projects. While these facilities would
obviously come for a price, one would not be required to waste time making payments
on toll-plazas as he also signaled ‘e-toll’ launches in a phased manner. “If
your Lucknow-Kanpur travel time is
reduced to 30 minutes, you can save your time and fuel.
The four proposed sites are Firozabad,
Agra, Unnao and between Kanpur and Kannauj. Land belonging to 21 villages — 18
km from Kannauj city and 40 km from Kanpur — has been set aside for the ITIR
project. Various Real Estate Projects are to coming on Faizabad Road. With this
Sultanpur Road becoming the new growth centre due to the proposed IT city, IIIT
campus and international stadium.
Gadkari’s ministry plans to pump in a
whopping Rs 51,500 crore in the state for better road connectivity over the
next two years. Upgradation of Ram-Jaanki Marg as national highway, too, has
been cleared. This route would cover Ayodhya,
Chhawni, Kalwari, Barhalganj, Siwan, Madhubani and Sitamarhi
to Janakpur.
Lucknow
Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has also announced
